Gophers are the scourge for any garderner and there are many opinions on how to manage the problem. Other than having a vegetable garden where this suggestion wouldn't work, make your own "gopher" cages. I have a native plant garden and I knew that the gophers would ruin my plants that I put into it if I wasn't proactive. That decision resulted in making cages from chicken wire to surround the root ball of each one gallon plant that went into the garden and each plant thrived.

Go online and search for natural horticultural vinegar with 20% acidity. This is very effective, safe for your garden, your kids and your pets.
