Alot of car shipping brokers will tell the customer that their car is "Fully Insured" during the transport. Simply a lie. The car will be covered against any damages directly caused by the driver after a $1000 deductible. It will not cover theft, windshields, damage from road debris or from weather. Another lie most companies will tell. http://www.pagellan.com/scottayres">@scottayres www.iqtransport.com

Most car shipping companies only do door to door service. However there are instances where a 72 foot long truck cannot get into your neighborhood, therefore requiring you to meet the driver in a nearby parking lot. The key is your shipment will remain on the same truck with the same driver! http://www.pagellan.com/scottayres">@scottayres www.iqtransport.com

Did you know that over 7,000 car shipping loads are past their scheduled pick up date right now? The reason is that the rates are not high enough to attract any carrier to move them. Don't be fooled by false claims, misleading gas card rewards, or extremely low rates. Many brokers move less than 50% of their orders. There are a lot of good transport companies, but there are also a lot of bad ones. Make sure you select a good one. http://www.pagellan.com/scottayres">@scottayres www.iqtransport.com

Typically the cost to move an INOP car is about $$150 more than a car that does run. But in order for a car carrier to move an INOP they must first have a winch and the car must roll, brake and steer. If it cannot do those 3 things then you will need to have a forklift available at pickup and delivery to load and unload the INOP car. If a forklift is not available to load your car then a local wrecker will need to come out and load the car for an additional fee. http://www.pagellan.com/scottayres">@scottayres www.iqtransport.com

When shipping a car the general rule of thumb is you can put about 100lbs of stuff into the trunk of the car without any issues. Out of sight, out of mind. If a truck is overweight the weigh station will charge them per pound overweight. My advise is to limit it to the trunk, limit it to clothing and keep it under 100lbs http://www.pagellan.com/scottayres">@scottayres

For whatever reason there is this mentality in auto car transport that the lower the price the better. This simply isn't true. You don't go to your doctor and say "Well, I know my wife is in labor but the Doc down the street quoted me $1000 cheaper so unless you can beat that I'll go with him." Obviously moving a car isn't as important as having a baby, but my point it when it comes to a service the price isn't negotiable and you get what you pay for. http://www.pagellan.com/scottayres">@scottayres www.iqtransport.com
